Validate the finished boundary condition
Pressure or leak testing should be performed after ports, sealing surfaces, cleaning and final boundary configuration are defined. The inspection plan must identify medium, pressure, hold time, allowable leakage and required records.
Planning points
- Confirm material and visual condition before testing
- Inspect plugs, fixtures and connection method
- Protect threads, sealing surfaces and thin sections
- Test after the appropriate machining and cleaning operations
- Use guarding, exclusion zones and written procedures for pneumatic tests
- Retain the requested pressure curve, result data or test report
Qualification evidence
Sample test procedures and report formats can be provided during project review. The binding requirement remains the drawing, purchase specification and mutually agreed acceptance criteria.
