Quality control

Material Testing

Chemistry, ferrite and hardness verification, with mechanical and corrosion testing coordinated when required by the specification.

Verify the alloy against the purchase specification

Material testing confirms chemical composition, structure or mechanical properties. The method, sampling location, frequency and report format should be defined in the RFQ and control plan rather than assumed after production begins.

Testing resources

  • Optical emission spectrometer for chemical-composition verification
  • Ferrite measurement where specified for duplex or austenitic castings
  • Brinell and Rockwell hardness testing
  • Tensile and impact testing on the specified heat-representative or product sample
  • Salt-spray or other corrosion-related testing when required by the applicable specification
  • Qualified external or specialist testing when the project requires a method outside the routine in-house route

Coupons, samples and reports

Cast-on coupons, heat-representative samples or specimens removed from a component affect tooling and process planning. State the required sample form, acceptance criteria, third-party witness and material-certificate type at quotation stage.

Start with the drawing

Send the alloy, annual quantity and critical requirements.

Email is the fastest route for drawings and 3D files. The short form is available when email is inconvenient.

For the fastest drawing review, include:
  • 2D drawing / 3D file and revision
  • Material grade or service environment
  • Annual quantity or expected lot size
  • Critical tolerances, finish, inspection or pressure-test requirements

For drawings and 3D files, use direct email. info@chinaprecisionmetal.com.
